Portrait and loadout modding questions

First of all, great job guys, you are amazing!

Which files determine the portrait available to each faction? Or at least I'd like to be able to replace the default Strelok one so I can use the same
portrait for all factions.
Also, is character_desc_general still the file to edit if I want to alter starting loadouts?

In gamedata\configs\ui\textures_descr\ui_actor_portrets.xml are the definitions for Strelok portrait.

Once you add your own portrait to the ui_actor_portrets.dds (Save as DXT5 no mipmaps). You can alter:

<texture id="ui_inGame2_Strelok" x="246" y="174" width="123" height="87"/>


x and y should be the top-left starting corner of where you put the icon.


Loadouts can be changed in:
gamedata\configs\plugins\faction_loadouts.ltx

I take it I need to use the AXR Toolset to unpack the .xml file you mentioned? I don't see ui_actor_portrets nor ui_actor_portrets.dds, but I do see factions_loadouts.ltx
