How do I get started with adding stuff to CoC?

Hey guys! I've roamed around reddit, the forums and youtube in hopes of some kind of tutorial but there is none. I'm really lost while in the pursuit of the goal to play the Warfare addon for CoC. I have a fresh 1.2 install that works perfectly and is bare of any significant tinkering besides head bob reduction and forcing traders to buy my broken guns.

From here, where do I go? How do I progress?

It seems that Warfare 0.7 is the newest version of the mod available but is it compatible with 1.3.2? If not, how do I go about manually patching from 1.2 to 1.3.12 ? Is just a matter of extracting the various manual patches into my CoC folder and allowing it to overwrite some files (it made it impossible for me to start a new game, last time)?
