Variation Mod installation question

Dear STALKERs and creator of the variation mod for Call of Pripyat,

I downloaded the newest variation mod from modDB.com and extracted the files right into my GameData folder, but still I see no variations ingame. How can I test if this works correctly? Do I have to change something else?

I just installed CoP, then Absolute Nature 3 lite and then Variations mod.

I appreciate any help on this

Are you absolutely sure the directory is correct?

make sure it's not something silly like call of pripyat\gamedata\gamedata\ which is possible if you extract directly.

Yes, the directory is correct. I have the new folders for the NPCs (actors) in there and the new burer skin, and so on...
So if I don't have to change some game config file to make this work, I just might need to play a little bit longer to see the differences.
